My only son went to Iraq; my SIL--whose son is as able as mine--"supports" our troops, but feels her son is "too important" to risk his life for his country. [He has an Information Technology job for a major insurance company.] I fully supported my son in his decision to join the USAR, and I supported his unit going to Iraq, even though it meant his life was potentially in danger. I have donated money to the LBEH ["Let's Bring 'Em Home"] cause, which provides airplane tickets to servicemen so they can come home for leaves, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I donated my old cell phone to an outfit that recycles them and uses the proceeds to provide our troops with prepaid calling cards.
But to some folks, because I don't support a certain political party, I "apparently" don't support our troops. I guess I should be ashamed of myself.
