we kill both cornish x s for the freezer and any extra roos, we keep barred rocks, white rocks speckled sussex etc.. for layers, now for anything other then the cornish x we coop up and load em up with broiler feed (high protein) so they are worth killen before they get too tough, (and we do brine) but the cornish it really depends. we ve cooped em all they way through, and free ranged them, other then the time it takes to get them to weight, we honostly couldnt taste a differnce, but i would deffintly remove food by 12 hrs before butcher to keep the crops empty,
