I have a 1958 IH 460 diesel utility tractor. The other day it developed a pinhole leak in the main hydraulic hose going from the pump to the distribution valves. I removed it and took it to a hydraulic hose repair shop. After going to the third shop, I found someone who said he could repair it. He put a new end on the top end and welded the bottom end piece onto a new end on the bottom. Using new hose of course. However, now it does not fit because it seems to be about 3 inches to long and there is only a total of 4 inches of rubber hose now anyway. The real problem is what before was a simple right angle fitting, now is pipe with a 3 inch radius. That is how hydraulic hoses are made now, apparently.
Any suggestions as to what I can do now? I can't even start it because it would pump all of the oil out. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
