We bought a Woods Brush Bull 720 about 9 years ago now. I would rate it a best buy. Even if it costs a couple hundred more than Deere, (I would be surprised if it did, green paint is spendy), I think it would be worth it. In my opinion the three most important things to look for on the spec sheet are:
Weight: Woods-1039# Deere-823# Woods has more steel in it, built stouter.
Blade tip speed: Woods-15,525FPM Deere-14,121FPM Faster tip speed = more suction, better cut.
Deck side depth: Woods-12.6" Deere-8.5" More room under the deck = better mulching, less plugging up.
My only complaint is that it is so heavy and stout that we should have bought the double tail wheel option. In soft ground the tail wheel will leave a rut.
As for cost, I want to say it was around $2500, but that doesn"t mean much since it was about 9 years ago and the price of steel has gone up. Just wanted to say, in my opinion, you can"t go wrong with a Woods. Good luck.
