Just to make you feel better, here is what I did yesterday. I was driving the Bobcat when it just died. spent about an hour checking everything I could including pulling the carb. Wife came by and asked if it had any gas in it. Checked the gauge and it showed 1/2 tank. But I thought OK I"ll poor a 5 gallon can in. Of course a few cranks to fill the carb and it fired right up. Didn"t spend any money but what a waste of time. Then when all was done and I parked it the gauge showed a 1/4 tank. I guess the gauge was stuck. Talk about feeling stupid.
