My mom has WildBlue, I have Hughes. We are about a mile apart. Her service does not even come close to mine. Think she is paying about 60 a month and I am paying around 90. I am not sure A higher plan would help, as sometimes her service seems almost non-existent. I recently hit my download max with HughesNet and slowed to a crawl. They have a downloader that you use to set up downloads between in the (free zone) 2 and 7 am. Seems mine started 2 hours early! They credited me, and a phone call jumped my speed right back up. It is higher for equipment and bandwidth, but it works.
