The other day, I was mowing our lawn with a 24 hp rider with a 54" deck and it dawned on me I"d spent many a day, and even weeks, combining wheat with a combine that took only a 6" wider swath than my lawn mower.
Honestly, I use the same argument with my neighbors who make fun of my little combine. I point out that there are lots of people who mow 1-3 acres every week with a 42" riding mower and think nothing of it. If you compare the number of hours spent over the summer on a riding mower versus the number spent with a 40" combine, it doesn't look so bad.
