Look for a fuel pressure regulator somewhere on the fuel rail. I believe there is one on that year truck. If it has a regulator on the fuel rail, unhook and plug the vacuum line from it. See if it runs better with it unhooked. Unhooking the vacuum line from the regulator will increase the pressure if the pump has any extra capacity. Another thing I have done on occasion when i don't have a particular fitting to hook a fuel guage up, I will modify a fuel filter to allow hooking a guage up. Some Mitsu's can be very difficult to take a fuel pressure reading. hope this helps,
