: I have a Farmall M with serial number 120545 XI.
: Is there any significance to the serial numbers?
: In other words, are some serial numbers worth more
: than others? I'm interested in selling it, and I
: was wondering if anyone could tell me what an M
: with that serial number, in good condition, is
: worth? Thank you.
I also have a 1946 I.H. M serial # 117442 but there is not any letters after the numbers. The only letters on the plate are FBK in a box before the numbers and I have no idea what they mean. Just thought I'd let you know that your serial numbers with the letters after must mean something since my M is the same year but different type of number, with a little luck someone will know the meaning of letters. Put the M up for sale 2 years ago and it is in good shape ,sheetmetal, engine a cab, converted to 12v., still use it for plowing snow in the winter, pulled at 5 pulls in last 2 years and had 4 2'nds 1 first and all I could get offered was $1,000 to $1200 and that is up here in Canada with the low dollar so it can stay in my garage. I know the M's don't have a real high resale value up here but from ones I have seen sold they usually run around $ 1,800 to $2,000 Canadian. Best of luck, and I would be interested in what kind of offers you get, and if you ever find out what your number means.
