After planting our corn on Sunday, I think it'll be up tomorrow. The fields were still quite damp, but we saw it as our only window so we dualed up the 1855 on Saturday and went out with the springtooth to open up the soil again and let it dry out over night and Sunday morning.
Sunday morning I hooked up to the field cultivator and drag and started working the first field while Dad pulled out the planter and put the marker arms on. I went home and helped him finish getting the planter ready (greased it a month ago when we were gonna go last time) and dropped it in the yard to check the spacing. Everything looked good so he went out with the 1855 to work the rest of the fields while I planted.
All in all, got all but maybe 2 acres planted due to being too wet. Almost lost the 18 on Saturday night but was able to get out of the hole without assistance (wasn't easy)and worked around the rest of the wet spots.
We'll probably plant some sudan grass there in a couple weeks once they dry out. I checked the corn tonight and the kernels have about a 1" leader on them, so they should poke out tomorrow. Should be able to see rows from a distance in 2 days I figure.
Second crop hay is almost ready (the bud is just showing), planning to cut possibly starting Sunday or Monday. Depends on the forcast. So far from what I see is nothing but sunshine after Sunday....
