Anybody need JD45 or Hercules parts or rims?

Just got home from looking at two JD45 combines with a buddy that bought the scrap rights to them along with some other junk. Depending on reaponses on parts wanted we'll probably be headed out there Wednesday to load them up and take them to the scrapper so I wanted to give anyone on here that might need parts from either the combine itself or the engine a chance before the scrap man gets them. We can wait a day or so if someone has something we can't get in a day but this deal isn't going to last forever so if you need anything speak up.

The machines themselves aren't in that great of shape as they have been semi parted over the years already but things like the main gearboxes at the axels are good and maybe some other parts that someone needs for a restoration. I can only find the serial number plate on one machine and it is #7123.

As far as the engines go both are Hercules JX4C3. The one on machine 7123 is serial# 2566374 and the other is 2572463. The radiators on both are gone and one of them has a broken manifold but other than that both appear to be relatively complete. I'd say they have been sitting in the same spot in neighborhood of 15-20 years as both have cedar trees better than 6 inches in diameter growing in/around some of the linkages. I do know both have the 2 hydraulic cylinders for the heads still in place and they all look relatively good beyond a few rusty spots on the rods.

One of them has both of the drive tires on it and both rims appear to be in decent shape from what I can see. The tires on them are shot but size wise they are 14x26. The rims on the smaller steer tires aren't in bad shape from what I can tell and there are 3 of them that have 7.5x16 tires.

OK, beyond that I know little to nothing about these old machines or what anything else on them is actually called. If anyone is interested in anything please let me know and make a reasonable offer on whatever part it is. I know my buddy isn't looking to make a killing off of this deal by any means but at the same time every little bit he can get over and above scrap price he's not going to turn down if the part is there and it's not going to take all day to get to it.

So, there is a few day window here before they get set on the trailer and hauled off so anyone needing anything give me a shout and make an offer and I'll pass it on and we can go from there. My email is Northwest80d@ctc.net

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
