Have you removed the fuel shutoff / sight glass from the fuel tank and checked it out? Every time this has occurred on one of my machines it is debris in the tank blocking the shut-off. Last time was actually on my 424... remains of a dead fly... Couldn't see it until I removed the shut-off and took a look.
if the tank is vented (and not creating a vacuum as fuel is removed by engine) there is absolutely no reason fuel flow should be restricted. Unless there is a blockage...
