I've been told that there was nothing inefficient about the old oil-bath style filters at all. As a matter of fact, I believe they are generally regarded as being a very good filter. The advantage of the paper one is of course the ease of servicing it, just put in a new one. When you think that some of those old oil bath filters are still being used and the engines are in good shape, well maybe consider leaving it as is. Just my 2 cents worth.
