Go for the 9. I have had seveal 7's, and several 9's. Pull type and three point. The pull type can get pretty trick backing up. The reasons you want a 9 are: You can mow from the road down a steep bank further, then get in the ditch and reach up to where you cut from the road. You can stay away from those sidehill adventures. You might also find some other hay mowing to do and the 9 will seem pretty SHORT! I have a huge yard that I was spending a lot of time and money on a 50 inch rider. I did some landscaping and reduced the "yard by about an acre. I let that acre go until early July, then mow with the 9 and bale it. After July I knock it down every 10 days with the 9 on a SH and it takes about 40 minuters to do the job. Believe you me, there's a whole lotta difference between 50 inches and 108 inches. Size DOES matter!
