I have a Cockshutt 540 that I'm working on. It has a squeal about 50% of the time regardless of whether in gear or not. I've traced it to the tranny and since the tractor has live pto, the top input shaft is always turning and from what I've seen in the manuals there are 3 bearings on that top input shaft that are likely squealing. I think I'll have to remove the tranny from the tractor to pull out that top shaft, but I'm wondering whether anyone here has experience with this and maybe has some suggestions. Thanks
