Pull the cover off and neutralize and you will probably find that the bearing on the cluster shaft where the gears slide on is wore out or a bushing is wore out causing friction. Reach in with your bar and neutralize transmission and diagnose. Another area is the shifter forks are worn and you might have to build up with the welder to get an acurate shift.
