Oven cleaner works excellently on some paints others it won't do much. I have used it on several occasions. I suspect it works on the older paints and not on acrylics. If you have a good angle grinder get a good "twisted wire" cup brush for it. Other than sand blasting this is what I use and it will take it down to the metal.
