class IV hitch receiver?

years ago when i wanted a class IV hitch for my 82' F250 heavy duty, i ordered a Sheldon by ups, no problem. i recently purchased a 97' F250 heavy duty. i've been searching for two weeks now for a class IV or V hitch. everyone wants to sell me a class III and looks at me like i'm crazy when i request the 4. today i drove to a rv dealer. he also looked at me cross-eyed and said he had not sold a class IV in years. What am i missing? what do you fellows pull a tag along with? Thanks
