They must have nipped it, because it fell totally out of the news. The problem was with the friction brake in the pedals and the shim's seemed to have fixed that. Early in the recall /repair, some claimed a few pedals were still sticky. Toyota said those were from mechanics making a mistake while doing the pedal repair. They said there are several thickness shims, the mechanic has to measure the gap in the pedal assy and chose the correct thickness shim. aparently some were messing up and installing the wrong thickness shim. The models with the floor mat problem have had shorter pedals installed and redesigned floor mats installed. On my 2010 Prius, they reflashed the antilock brakes computer to shorten the lockup to unlock delay time by 6/100 of a second. I can't feel 6/100 of a second difference and never noticed any problem with the antilock brakes, but some customers complained that the could feel the difference and it scared them. All 2009 and earlier Prius had the shorter time delay. No electronic throttle or computer problems have been found, so It appears to have been sticky CTS throttle assys, loose floor mats and folks that cant tell the gas and brake pedal appart.
