So, now, are you trying to clean the mud off the outside, or out of the inside of a tranny? I haven't understood your question so far. If on the outside, wash it. If actual mud is on the inside, how did it get there, and you'll have bigger problems than just cleanning it! Or do you just mean the normal crude that accumulates on the inside of cast iron over 40-50 year?
