The 730 as you describe it with a standard 8 speed is just that! low range and gear one is low. High range and gear one is 5th. Otherwords gears 1-4, use low range. gears 5-8 uses high range. Now if you have another smaller lever on the dash labled C and D you have a COM 730 with a Torque Converter. that lever can be shifted on the go like a TA. The flat lever on the platform adjusts the load control portion of the DOM 3pt hitch.
