Ford 5000

I have a 1973 Ford 5000 with a 20 foot boom mower for reaching the banks and dikes of our cranberry bogs. All of a sudden, it's leaking oil at the joint between the rear of the engine block and the transmission. It is not just weeping. It's a substantial flow. I assume it's the rear main seal. I also assume this is a "split your tractor, pull the flywheel, pluck out the old seal, put in a new one."
Can anyone agree, disagree, or add anything?
