Not necessarily. Very few "bad check" prosecutions in the US end up with the defendant in jail. In many jurisdictions these cases are not even prosecuted, especially if the defendant is out of state. A word to the wise. Accept payment in CASH. Where not practical, like in this case, have your banker explain how "wire transfers" work. International wire transfers are slightly more complicated by the the exchange rate but literally millions of them are done every day.
