Thanks for all the input, folks. I would be really excited if I could find a relatively small diesel tractor for next to nothing to work on, although I'm not sure that exists. The farmer I work for now has 2 old 70's MFs, a '94 JD 8200, and just replaced his old combine with a '96 JD 9600. Any suggestions on a little diesel? I have a lot of wrench-turning experience, but never with an overhaul, start to finish.
