As A Professor teaching that content. I will give two opinions: The more you work with your hands on real equipment, the better engineer you will be. (make that last period about the size of a dime!) This makes you an angel in the eyes of the repair person, or operator. The Unit you select should be basic. There is 80% of the content in every operating tractor, gas or diesel, to build confidence and understanding of how things work. There is no need to get complex or radical on the first one, and you can take my word, there is enough in a simple tractor to build your base competancy on. Jim
