I don"t support national health care for a myriad of reasons, but I"ve been with the VA for 4 years and have been very satisfied with it. Quit the civilian system because of poor communication, went to the VA, ok with billing to our private BCBS until I was on Medicare...hip replacement, heart issues (stent, cardioversion) in the past year- more to come since I"m back to A-Fib- excellent care, appointments when I ask for them; granted, St. Cloud, MN and MPLS have excellent reputations, others may not have. All records show up on computer when they log in my last 4 SS numbers, any place in the US system. Civilian system does not have that- don"t understand why you complain about the VA system - it is not that way here, should be the same all over the US. Computer system is nationwide. Remember, everything is a people-oriented system-individual PEOPLE make the difference...in any system.
