Can't be a '43, they didn't start making them until '47. Get the serial # and look up the year in the serial # list at the left of this page to get a handle on the year. Good ones run in the range of $1500 to $2000 & basket cases go for $500 to $750 in our part of the world, as there were not too many of them sold new around here so they are kinda scarce.
