Sold a Deere for $8000 to a guy that paid via check and brought his trailer. That was on Friday afternoon. Monday his bank said a stop payment was made on that check. After a number of calls he said he would bring me cash. He brought another check. Said he knows it is good because he just deposited the cash. I asked why he did not bring the cash. He said "Why would you want cash?" I took the check and cashed it. It cleared. About a year later I sold a Nissan 4x4 for $1000. The guy paid via check. It bounced! He returned the truck wrecked. Got a lawyer. After his fees, I made over $2000 on that deal but it took almost a year.
