I disagree strongly. I make my living supporting technology and the internet for the local school system, so I'm familiar with most of the ways the internet can be used, and I'm generally in favor of it, when used appropriately, primarily where time, distance and schedules prohibit face to face meetings. For example, a school in Maine cooperating with a school in Kenya on a research project is a wonderful thing. A school in one town doing the same thing with a school in the next town up the road is, IMHO, a waste of resources and only serves to isolate and impersonalize what should be an opportunity to meet new people and create social bonds. The internet and multimedia are NOT and, in my opinon, never will be, an appropriate subsitute for face to face experience. I can't meet the people, touch the machinery, smell the smells or react to other stimuli that inevitably lead to new questions and experiences. It has it's place, but I don't believe I will live to see it replace the print media or live events. I pray I won't. Too much will be lost.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
