Rarely do I turn one over anytime, some of them have frozen and thawed for a decade. I used to use a temporary watering system where I had small fields and since Im lazy I put a tank in every other field, probably 25 in all. I've also used them to feed wet distillers slop which runs 180 degrees or more at times. Exactly 3 tanks have had splits start, all were at the top and all related to impact (tractor, truck, skid loader) when full of water and temps in the mid 30's. I'd not consider getting a metal water tank again.
