Rosetta Stone Language courses are real helpful. A little time consuming and I just noticed that they are expensive ($500 +/-) but very helpful. I'm pretty thick headed and zoomed right through the German course.
Nothing wrong with learning another language, especially if it helps you out. May even open a few doors for you. May be a way to get to Rosetta Stone for free if you want to shoot me an email.
