Here in the States, we collect old things, not new things. You don't often buy a new car, truck, tractor, house, and 'restore & collect' it. So, they would have to collect old tractors. Most of the fun is in making the tractors either look or run as they did when new. Then get another and restore it to look or run as good as it was when new. There would be no enjoyment in collecting new tractors - buy it & set it in a shed - nothing to do? With a painting, the enjoyment seems to be in having something very rare. Some people enjoy that. Tractor collectors/ restorers - they enjoy bringing something back from the near dead, & making something out of it. If the ecconomy goes bad, the person owning a painting has a colorful piece of canvas. The person owning a restored tractor has a usable piece of machinery. In either case the value will probably decline a lot, but some people feel better owning something that has value aside from it's collector status. --->Paul
