I have built a few pole buildings.I put up a building here the same size as yours a few years ago, just south of Syracuse. Drilled holes with a 12" post hole drill, it was necesarry to widen a couple of them by hand to get the posts to line up to the string(6x6 poles). A wider hole may eliminate that problem.A larger hole also makes for a larger footing- if you use a bigger diam. hole you will need both bags of concrete in the bottom of the hole. you should shoot for 6-8" deep dry concrete mix for a footing. Dont use concrete around the pole, backfill with what came out of the hole. 4 foot should be deep enough.I would clean out the holes with a hand post hole digger after drilling. Dont worry about anchoring the pole, if you are below frost line it wont heave . I do like those perma colums mentioned , if I put up another building here I would look into them.
