After reading all these comments, a person just has to smile at what different people's ideas are. Now honestly, most of the tractor's shortcomings are opinions of people who haven't taken time to really evaluate what they consider problems, when in truth most of the "bad designs or ideas" were just situations which resulted from people not thinking. Narrow front tractors are a good example, used properly with proper cautions, they are no more hazardous than narrow tread standards. For instance, a W-6 will flip just as easy as an M if the M's rear wheels are set in the "dished out" normal way. You can kill yourself on a motorcycle in a heartbeat if you don't understand what you're operating. It is true that all tractor manufacturers have at times come out with concepts that were not very well proven for reliability or applicication or safety. This seems to happen in every kind of machine and many other things too. Sales drives new ideas and profit drives sales, etc, etc.
