Correction, it's a Yazoo Master Mower. I think the Wisconsin engines are only rated at 12 1/2 HP but in reality have more torque than a newer 24 HP. Pretty hard to kill them. They're kind of like a 2 cylinder JD when they're under load. I think they only run at 1800, maybe 2400 rpm but are near impossible to stall. The forward reverse transmission is kind of funky though, especially when mowing on hills. You're supposed to be stopped before changing direction but they free wheel in neutral and don't have the best brakes. If I remember the brakes are just metal plates that push on the tires. Not uncommon for the rear wheel to come off the ground when changing direction. Yazoo's were one of the very first out front commercial mowers and great for going around trees. Later Howard took the Yazoo design and put a hydrostatic trans. on it with an 18 HP twin cylinder Onan engine. Yazoo is a much cooler name than Howard though. Dave
