Fred, Blackberries - For the last 3 years, conditions here have been just right for wild blackberries. I picked over 3 gals. last year. My wife made loads of Jam and we gave a lot of it to friends and relatives. And....is there anything better than wild blackberry pie?......well, yes, wild strawberry shortcake. We haven't had a good year for strawberies for a while. Anybody who hasn't had wild strawberry shortcake hasn't had the BEST dessert ever devised. Nasty lil bastids to hull but worth all the effort when you sit down to eat 'em!!
