First off, define "Greatest" in the context of this question. What's great to you may be average to me. What I need in a tractor will be of little use to some others. Then, "greatest" from what era? What a tractor was used for 30 years ago may not be a high priority to many owners now days.
Great from my perspective is fuel efficient, durable, mobile (in terms of easy to haul) nimble, and quiet. Brute HP isn't as high on my list. (For my needs, 40 to 50 hp is plenty)
My favorite has always been the Massey Ferguson 150. I understand 100% that may be way too small of a tractor for someone row cropping 1000 acres. But it's all I need or want.
