Cultivated and plowed with a Ford 2N, the muffler under the foot plate, and sitting astraddle the transmission case sure led to heat blisters in some bad places. Sure John Deere had the hand clutch, but backing up I got so I could operate it with the toe of my right boot while leaning over the seat, also drove a wheat version of the IHC 560 with a hand clutch! Try backing up a tractor of that size while leaning forward to engage the lever. How about headlights, in most cases too dim or ill placed to do any night work. How about mufflers too short, so you got the exhaust back in the face. John
