For early corn in my area, Seneca Arrowhead has done the best. Won't rot even in wet 50 degree soil. But the ears are small. Strictly an early "first picking" bi-color corn.
Seneca Wardance is my 2nd favorite.
My favorite for later season is Silver King. It is an amazing corn. Has all the taste and size of the old standard Silver Queen, but comes earlier. It's also sweeter and one of the best freezer-corns I've ever grown. But if selling at a roadside stand - it can be hard to sell until people actually try it - since it's white and not bi-color.
One thing I've found here. Same variety corn differs year to year. Must have a lot to do with weather - unless the seeds are somehow inconsistent.
