BAD DESIGN Band Brakes, They would stop forward movement but do not stop going up hill and expect to hold your self from rolling backwards. I know there were others but the WC Allis was one tractor Dad would not let me drive for that reason. WORST IDEA Hand brakes were worse than hand clutches, JD just run the hand clutches longer. BAD DESIGN Governor action of an SC or DC Case was bad in that the engine would speed up when the load was removed. Example would be plowing and come to a fence row, start turning, trip the mechanical raised plow and hang on.
