My son has a little square-log hunting cabin on his property not too far from his house. Since his family is growing (and his house isn't), I'd like to use this little cabin for the wife and I when we visit. Unfortunately it is also the home to quite a number of ants. The cabin sits above the ground (on skids) but the back end skids are slightly into the ground. We're not sure exactly where the ants are headquartered, but being up here in northern Alberta they must be in the ground, at least through the winter. He's tried all the little ant bait pellets, etc. and they not only don't work too well but they are expensive as all get out. I suspect the ants are under the cabin and just like to visit like I do. The square wood logs seem to be in pretty sound shape. Are there any suggestions you might have once we find out where they are living, or maybe even if we don't? I would like some of the 'cheaper' methods if at all possible. Thanks.
