At the New Holland dealership where my B-I-L works they had a week-long episode of trying to troubleshoot the hydraulics on a quarter-million dollar combine after it was "demo'ed" for a few hours then brought in for a filter change before being delivered to the new owner.
The 'puter would shut down the hydraulic system just after startup.
To make a LONG $$$$ story short, they finally figured it out... the little circle of plastic someone had poked INTO the new filter doing what you did had found it's way to some fancy pilot-operated valve gizmo, causing flow and pressure readings the gave the machine control 'puter FITS.
