On top of what Bob stated, there could also be other issues.
I just tried to help out my son-in-law with replacing his 4L60E. What a mess. His truck is a 2000 S10 size with a four-banger engine. Tried to fit several other transmissions and NG. One from a 2001 S10 V6 and another from a 1999 AstroVan V6. Found out there are several different bellhosing bolt patterns along with different splined input shafts, two-piece housings, torque-converter ODs, etc.
At the least, your 700R4 would need a TV cable hooked up to your trottle, to control shifting.
