Nope, never heard anything about it. But that sounds interesting, sure he wasn't plugging some product?.
My MH manual says to use "soft rain water". That was back in the 50's and I really wonder if that's wise these days. I'm thinking of the sulphur content in our rain these days and what that can do to the rad.
Maybe the middle ground is where to go and
boil a couple of gallons of rain water. That should neutralize some of the impurities.
