Ted Everett"s auction in Monrovia, IN today had a couple of pieces of old iron. IH-M ran smoothly, good metal, unrestored $ 1750 Cub with a large number of implements-$1300. Came in on a hook but they said was running. Allis D 17 on steel. Very rough but running under its own power- $1250.
Also saw a JD 316 over in the L&G ring. 400 one owner hours with a 50" mower. Excellent condition- $ 900. I bought a similar mower at this auction 10 years ago with more hours on it for $ 1800. Some investment. Still the best GT ever made.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights. The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony.
