25 yrs ago I was in a similar place. i was engaged and happy, but she had other ideas. truth is I don't think she felt about me as I about her. She dumped me. I had supported her, bought her a car so she could get to work, helped with housing, even helped her sister. But, alas, she moved on. Her mom liked me, her cranky step dad liked me, but not her. I was devastated, to say the least. It was tough but day by day I moved forward. I met my wife and after 20 yrs have awonderful family. I still think about her. But I also see that I am much better off and that much of what I loved was just "settling".
