4600 not running well

I bought a 1978 gas 4600SU. It will usually start the first time with little or no choke. It will run but is pretty rough. It may run at a faster idle for a while but as soon as it gets slightly warm or I put a load on it, either with the loader or the hitch, it will die or almost die. If I stop and slow it down I can keep it running but it will not run smooth. It has had new points, plugs, dist cap and recently a rebuilt carb.
What else can I check?
