Owning three acres, and moving from the city, I was in the same situation last year. My original theory was something small just for cutting grass. My father-in-law was a heavy equiptment operator, and now lives on a pretty big piece of property. He has a Farmall 200 for misc jobs around the house. I love that tractor, and originally set out for a Farmall. I ended up falling in love with a Allis Chalmers WD. I did not need something that big, but I unfortunately have the Tim Taylor syndrome. I am glad now that I did. I ended up buying a loader for the tractor. And like the additional hp of the tractor for running a bigger finish cut as opposed to a tractor with less hp. I would say to check the phone book and see what dealers are located near you to get parts. I have an AGCO dealer by me. That is one area with John Deeres and Fords that you cannot go wrong. There are dealers everywhere. Well good luck and write what you settle on.
