I have used a water treatment dye that I got from work. It's bright pink and easy to see. The company at the link has green and blue as well, but they only sell in case lots (12 1 pint jars). They did provide a company name to buy smaller lots, Professional Equipment Company
800/334-9291. Any water soluable dye would work, and these pints would color about 1500 gallons or more, dark enough to easily see where you have sprayed. E-mail me for more info.
