I just drilled the Rural King pasture mix into two pasture patches that were down to poor grass at best. The one patch was old pasture that had the horses in year around for four years. Mostly bare ground and weeds last fall. The other patch was just grass and weeds. I put the pasture mix on at a rate of 30 pounds per acre. I will keep the horses off for about a month or until I run out of last years hay which looks like it will come out about that. If the pastures were in better shape I would have just fertilized.
